ATTN “COURTSIDERS” – HEAR ME “LIVE” ON RADIO IN RICHMOND, VA, THE INTERNET, AND FACEBOOK TOMORROW, FRIDAY, DEC. 8, 2017!

I’ll be on two local radio shows hosted by Richmond Attorney Pablo Fantl tomorrow.

Both are am radio stations, and are available online.  They also will broadcast on Facebook Live, and will be available in the archives afterwards.  I will post links on immigrationcourtside.com once the recordings are available.

From 11:30-12:30     Radio Poder 1380 am   http://www.wbtk.com/

From 1:00-2:00         Maxima 1320 am          https://maxima1320.com/

These are programs directed at informing the Hispanic community in Richmond. Although I’m not bilingual, Pablo has promised excellent interpretation services. And, gosh knows, I’m pretty used to being translated into many languages from my days on the immigration bench.

Hope you’ll “tune in!”

Thank you, Judge Schmidt, for coming down to Richmond and speaking to the *people* – the people who need to hear from someone like you now more than ever! One small step…….means a lot to those who have no voice, especially now. Grassroots outreach is power to the people, and the people are listening and waiting, and looking for direction and reassurance.

And those people definitely include people who have at a minimum a vague understanding of how the immigrant community makes America great, but isn’t sure why they “didn’t do it legally” and doesn’t know how to reconcile their misunderstanding with the rhetoric coming out of the political factions that are warring daily in our great nation.

I will leave those unnamed people who frequent your blog, who for whatever reasons refuse to open their eyes to the reality and urgency of the plight of immigrants, and our need as a country to accept and embrace the immigrant population, to ponder the basis for their beliefs. I imagine the readers who come here have some basic understanding of this issue, and encourage them to do some soul searching about how they view immigrants and their role in American society. I hope that it brings them closer to the realization that immigration is a net and gross positive to our culture.

There aren’t many people in your position who would make the effort to come out and speak to the immigrant community in Richmond. A new adventure for you, and a sorely needed message for the immigrant community. Those of you who rely upon and support the undocumented community understand that Judge Schmidt’s message of hope is not just for the undocumented, but also for “us” – those people who have coexisted and relied up our immigrants for services and inspiration for years, and I thank you too for supporting him.

Judge Schmidt – thank you for your kindness – so seldom seen – let’s do this again!

Big, big hug and RESPECT!
